I have a number of Perfection Heaters and a couple of my burners have many pinholes in them. Usually when I buy one I inspect it thoroughly before adding any fuel. In the past I have used a dab of JB weld to fill one of two in and it works great. Now I have a burner that I bought to replace one that was to bad for repair. It also has many pinholes but only in the chimney. My question is, has anybody tried using lead or solder to fix pin holes? Ant advise would be great. Thanks. Deadeye.

Sorry for this very late reply, Folks! ! Brass fonts seem most prone to 'stress cracks'. They are easily soft-soldered by drying, extensive cleaning, fluxing with a tinning fluid ("Ruby Fluid"), and then applying acid-core solder with a very large iron. Rust-perforated steel fonts may require tinned patches applied with propane. Good luck! ....Cotten

I've used POR-15 fuel tank sealer to seal brass fonts with stress cracks several times. Works great for me.

I've used it too, Ratkindler! Only because it was left over after it failed in my local gasoline. Mostly for looks. ....Cotten PS: Used up my failed Caswell's gastank sealer, too; I've saved a lot of fonts.
